To prepare future television makers AEGEE TV organized the second Media School in Patra. From the 17th till 21th of November 2002, 15 young journalists, cameramen and editors learned how to make television. Only one week in advance AEGEE TV decided to let the media school take place in Patra. However, the people of Patras managed to organise a perfect event. Consisting of most meals, a great location, all the help we needed, a wonderful social programme, great parties and very interesting excursions. In Patra we also visited the local TV station Patra TV. This visit was included in the evening news that night.

Do you have some good ideas but you don't know how to combine them to make a great movie? Do you think that the technical aspects are a little too difficult to learn alone? The plan: -4 days to learn everything you need to make some great short movies: how to manage a brainstorming in order to write a scenario and a script, how to film simply and use the external elements to increase the quality of the film, learn how to edit the film sequencies, how to cut them and put them together, how to make the transitions, the animations and at last how to manage the sound / music and eventually some special effects... Afterwards you'll just have to do it by yourself, you'll have all cards in your hands ! -4 days to discover the region of Frankfurt ("Rhein-Main Gebiet"): Darmstadt is indeed situated 30 km in the south of Frankfurt, there are also Mainz (30 km nord-west) and Heidelberg (60km south)... During these four days you'll have a great opportunity to discover the places around you... -4 nights to get the rythm of the agora: around a fire or in a club in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen they'll always be something nice to do during the night...

Over the years AEGEE.tv has organized many MediaSchools (MeS), this is usually done with the help of a team of local organizers. In the past we have organized MediaSchools in Patra, Nijmegen, Poznan, Eindhoven and Nowy Sacz. This time the MeS took place in Rotterdam.

A MediaSchool typically lasts four to five days. Apart from the workshops, excursions and a social programme for the evenings are a recurring part of the program. Workshops are given in the fields of journalism, camera technique and videoediting. At most MediaSchools there will also be a keynote lecture on a related theme. These keynote lectures are given by experts in the field of television journalism.
